  1. What are you talking about?! Geez make a little more sense....

Your avatar expression explains why you're talking like that

  2. duh, but its not likely that u will get caught so don't worry about it

  3. Well, yeah

Because even if you delete history/files they still stay SOMEWHERE on your computer...

    Good luck !

  4. You shouldnt get in trouble. There are way too many people out there doing illegal things on the computer for the government to arrest somebody downloading music.

  5. The people who download music usually dont get in trouble, the people who put the things ONTO limewire are the ones who get into trouble...so dont worry about it. you wont get in trouble even if you do still have things from limewire, I have used it for like 3 years and dont even know anyone who has gotten in trouble...

Oh and any program that allows you to download music without permission, besides like Itunes is illegal. So that means like kazaa and things like that, also. just like burning DVD's and giving them to people is also illegal.

  6. Oh ya it is...the free one anyway...they can check IP addresses and that is how people get caught...which is why I renew mine each time I went in there harder to track....I now use iTunes.

  7. Limewire is NOT illegal. Some of the things you can do with it is, but just don't share your songs after you download them. You don't need to uninstall it or delete anything.

  8. you won't know until the RIAA/MPAA sends you a "cease and desist" and/or settlement letter. But they really only do that to the heavy uploaders.

although, the MPAA reported me to my school for catching me uploading "Elizabeth:  The golden age," even though it was only for a few hours, and hadn't even uploaded a full copy of it.  Now my school has me completing a "using the internet responsibly" course for the upcoming semester that i have to pay $30 for... but i'd rather pay the $30 course than the settlement that the organizations usually hit people with for copyright infringement (i think its around $750 per file)

I'm sure you will be fine, best of luck!

  9. Technically its not illegal because limewire is a file sharing program, so when you download the files just don't use them for copyright. In the very unlikely chance of police coming round to check things out tell them about it being a file sharing program

  10. well.. i used to use it.. but it never really did anything to my computer...or iPod.. ofcourse i dont use it now, but

now there is a lime wire software, where you need

to pay like $19.95 for it, and its a legal version.

  11. yup your ok

  12. of course its illegal youre getting free songs how do you think musicians make their money. its cos of limewire theyre all broke

  13. I don't think anything will happen because almost a bunch of people have it. They won't go looking all around at everbody's computer to see if they have any illegal things.

  14. Getting rid of it should make you safe.  If they ever do want to get someone for it they will go after the ones who are still using first.  I wouldn't stress over it though the law will go after more hard core criminals who are slinging dope and stealing cars than someone stealing and slinging ripped music.lol

  15. Lime wire isn't illegal, people choose to download & share files that are copyrighted & haven't been released for free distribution.

There are songs that are legal to download, & Lime wire gives you the choice to only download these, however there aren't many.

To legally download a song that is copyrighted all you have to do is write to the artist (etc.) & get written permission.

  16. yeppp.:)

  17. Gurl go to the files, select all of them, and then say "STOP SHARING".

  18. yes it is illegal because you are downloading songs without authorization

  19. Yes.

  20. i have lime wire. i aint gonna deletet it cuz  its file sharing.lol. plus the cds r to expencive......so whatever

  21. Limewire is illegal...but I DO have it. It actually shouldn't be illegal because it's sharing, and it's not being downloaded illegally.

  22. yes it is i would get rid of every thing on my computer that is related to it.  FAST!

  23. You can still get in trouble.   Internet records are kept, deleting a song doesn't delete the log of you downloading it.

Chances are good,  you have nothing to worry about though.

  24. Limewire isn't illegal.

Using it to download copyrighted software is.

Examples of copyrighted software include, but are not limited to, most songs, movies, professional version of Limewire, and anything else that is not listed under a GNU license or you do not have express permission from the author to own for free.

By the way, everything you do is saved on your computer permanently. This includes if you have ever accidentally accessed anything illegal, traces are all saved on your hard drive. When you click 'delete' on a file all you are really doing is removing the access file. The file will continue to leave a trace on there unless you rewrite the disc space several times over. The most complete way to remove a file and rewrite the traces is to format your computer 7-9 times. I know this sounds like a lot but 1 format really does not cut it all the time and may not destroy all evidence. I do not recommended doing this unless you have something really illegal on your hard drive and you are already a suspect in a crime as unless you are suspected of a crime and the police want more evidence to help convict you it is highly unlikely that the police will be interested in the contents of your hard drive.

You should look into these kind of things before you start doing them otherwise you might get yourself into trouble, but I really doubt you have anything to worry about if p****y was your only crime and you haven't pissed anyone, in a position of power, off.

    Enjoy your day.

  25. I don't care. :)

    Music is too expensive. :)

  26. It isn't illegal.

    PROOF:

    LimeWire Users

LimeWire is legal software, but it is illegal for you to use LimeWire to share copyrighted files without permission. Purchasing LimeWire PRO does not constitute a license for obtaining or distributing unauthorized files. When you download LimeWire software from www.limewire.com, you agree to refrain from using LimeWire for the purpose of copyright infringement.

  27. limewire is illegal, but you can only be tracked when you are downloading, if you just stop downloading its unlikely you will get in trouble, so there is no need to delete your tracks.

  28. you'll be fine
