  1. Don't let not making the team get you down, use it as a learning experience.  As for the "crazy" passing, you just need to calm down.  I think you "crack" under pressure.  Take it one ball at a time.  Don't say to yourself that you can't do it, cause you KNOW you can.  When the ball is coming at you, call it, and pass like you know how to pass.  Don't focus on making the team, or if the coaches are watching you, do your best, like you know how to do.  Practice a lot, whenever you can.  And not just passing it to yourself, or to another person.  play real games.  get on a league or something (like you said you were) and work on getting over your nerves.  Since there usually aren't tryouts for a club team, it should take off some preasure.  Good Luck with everything

  2. practice ....practice....

  3. It already appears that you have the "skill".  I think the problem is in your mind.  It could be that the confidence level is affecting your "freezing" on the court.

You have to quietly and personally become cocky.  Believe in yourself that you are able to do the skills and do them correctly.

Everyone shanks a ball once in awhile.  The problem with most younger players is that they let that affect their next plays.  Let it go.  The more you think about doing the skill incorrectly, the more you'll make that mistake.  Instead of saying, "man, I messed up that pass."  Instead, say, "my arm was not straight.  The next pass, I'll make sure my arm is straight."

You've done perfect passes and such before.  Why can't you do them again?  You can.  It's your brain that causes you to do something wrong just prior to the impact of the ball.

Remember, volleyball is 99% "preperation" and 1% contact.  You must prepare to get to the position of the ball.  You must prepare to get into foundation pass.

Repetition and practice is the key to a great game.  You won't have a "perfect" game, but at least you can say to yourself that you had a well played game.

  4. PRACTICE

  5. i am really sorry!

Umm well just keep practicing....infront of lots of ppl! I think it is a really good idea to play in the club thing u are doing! It will help...hopefully!

well umm just think it is always ust u and ur friends hanging out having fun....picture urself doing as good as u say u r!

    good luck!

  6. You need to play more "real" games on the real court.

Drills and off-court pepper can only help you with your fundamentals, but only real game experience can carry you for a long run, whether you made your team or not.

  7. Aww it's okay, I'm sure you'll do better next time

When you are on the court, think of it as playing the sport you love and have FUN! Don't stress out about it, you always end up failing if you do!!

And in games, don't think of it as a game, think of it as a practice scrimmage!

Volleyball is a tough sport, but you can do it =D

  8. i used to have the same problem. Perfect at practices and chicken out during games!! esp serve recieves. But you just ahve to get over it!! Thats really the only choice. Practicing more cant hurt either! You know at this point, you cant do anything about getting cut. I suggest that you work out alot throughout the year and join clubs/league.. try your hardest and next year at tryouts, you can show off your hard work

  9. dude my cousin didnt make it either... dont be so down! and if you are really as good as you say you are the coach willl realize that she/he made a bigggggg mistake.. or not.

  10. Hey,don't let not makeing the team get u down.i totally agree on going 2 a club though there's this one camp i went 2 and i learned alot and i mean(more than i ever leared from my coach)not only about life but about v-ball.I can tell ur a bit shy u need 2 be loud and not think about everything around u think about being agressive and don't think about the other chic's trying out  be confedent w/ yourself and practice alot during the summer:)
