Ok so I had strep throat about three weeks ago, and i would take my meds only when my throat would get sore (amoxocillin) and it never hurt to bad at all, but today it started hurting and now its killing me, and theres a white puffy line on my tonsil. so im guessing its my strep throat. i took my last two amoxocillins tonight..will it be gone by tomorrw (i have a huge date)

and i can take my sisters meds after that b/c we both had strep

  1. When you are prescrived antibiotics you MUST take the whole course of drugs.  If you don't, the infection is not killed off properly and will come back (as it has in your case) with a vengeance and take twice as long to get rid of as well as needing to take more drugs, possibly stronger ones than you would have originally needed.  Infections build up a resistance to antibiotics when you don't take the whole course, and when somebody's life depends on them, they don't work thanks to people like you.

  2. I am a CCMA

NO it will NOT be gone by tomorrow.. You have to take it until it is all gone and most strep medications MUST be taken for 7 days...

This is why there are Resistant Strains of Strep and other diseases because when a person feels better they stop taking them..

Be ADVISED untreated strep can attack your organs especially kidneys and you will contract kidney disease..

    Long story short..

My daughter had a positive strep but the ER doctor said it was negative. She got better until a month later when she could not move and peed DARK ORANGE urine... Kidney disease

  3. No. Go back to the doctor. What you've done is to teach the strep bacteria how to resist amoxicillin.

Your sister shouldn't have any left. With ANY bacterial infection, finish ALL the med regardless of how you feel.
