I disconnected my VRO on my 225hp Johnson, I believe it's electric and I just unplugged it...cont.?

Question

is there anything else I need to do to run my motor w/ out the VRO?

I feel more comfortable mixing my own gas and oil and when I eventually sell the boat I will hook the VRO back up for the new owner. Will the pump still work if I leave it disconnected for a long time?

yes it will be fine just keep it well oiled any oil will do. dont let the internals dry and crack. you did it all right.

The VRO is vacuum operated - the wiring is for the warning alarm.  Now all you have to do is plug the oil intake hose.
