Every time I open internet explorer (which I am not on now), it opens random things. It's usually either random google searches or things that pop up and say that I need to download something because my computer is infected (this is from the website, not my anti virus software). I have updated everything on my AVG program, but it can't find anything wrong.

  1. this is usualy a spyware problem which causes all this popups.

    Software that collects information about a particular user or organization without their knowledge. You might never guess that you have spyware installed on your computer. In general, the goal of spyware is to:

    trace user actions on a computer;

    gather information on the contents of your hard drive; in such cases, this more often than not involves scanning several directories and the system registry in order to compile a list of the software installed on the computer;

    gather information on the quality of the connection, bandwidth, modem speed, etc.

    use kaspersky internet security 7.0 or avira free edition or eset smart security

  3. For start,I would recommend downloading and using Avast!, which is ALOT better than AVG.  Also try downloading Windows Defender and scanning your computer.  It's also better if you ditched Internet Explorer and switched over to Mozilla Firefox 3.  If these' don't end upt solving your problem, reinstalling Windows will fix your problem.

  4. Maybe you have done some changes to the browser or computer.

  5. pc tools threatfire , windows defender and windows firewall....no joke ..get rid of those headaches..for free

  6. safe bet is to download mizilla firefox.

    its a safe internet browser, like explorer

  7. You more than likely have some mild spyware/malware infection which AVG could not identify.  My recommendation is to analyze your system, then have someone create an infection specific regimen of fixes.

  8. I've had this many times as well.  It's all because of Spyware on your computer.  You google something, click a search result and go to a completely different website (spam), and then you'd have to go back to google, click the search result several times to get to the correct website.  It's really annoying.  Try several Spyware cleaners.  A good website for many computer tools software is located under my source.

  9. This is common in Internet Explorer. I suggest that you try safari web browser for more affective and accurate results. You can get it from http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

    Also try deleting the internet Online and Offline files that just hand in there and sometimes they prevent you from viewing some web pages.

    Install safari, do the samething and let me know if it worked for you.

    Best of Luck
