  1. mac is a unix/bsd system.. it's never really for noobs

point: use "command-line"(terminal) in order to solve this, or  reinstall mac :P TERMINAL ALL THE WAY!

dunno how to do it using terminal? Google is your friend

  2. If you have Time Machine set up on your Mac, i'd strongly recommend going back to before you installed the tutorial.

If you're using a LEGIT copy of Photoshop, I find this problem to be very strange. There's most likely more to it. Bring it to Apple Genius's and get it looked at by a pro. If not under warranty, expect to pay $$$.

If you want to fix it yourself and don't necessarily care about data loss, try your apple restore cd's.

  3. This is a big proof that macs DO have viruses. okay there is a macaffee antivirus for mac, i suggest you try it out so you get rid of whatever is blocking you from accessing your desktop ( use safe mode or something like this i am not much into macs)
