Okay I was born January 12 1993 and when I put it in a year ago it said I was a rooster! And people told me everyone born in 1993 was roosters! But now I put it in and it says monkey! Every time I put it in it says monkey is it because I was born before Chinese new year and it is still 1992 to the Chinese??????

  1. The Chinese calendar is a lunar calendar. New Year is on a different date each year but is always in in January or February on our calendar, so you must find someone that has a list of the date of new year for the year you were born , because you were born in January. You were probably born before the new year. Year 2008 on our calendar is year 4706 on the Chinese calendar. Our 1993 was 4691 to Chinese people. Miss 6 is wrong here to say Chinese new year is always in february. It can be in January too.

  2. You are a monkey and it means you are bouncy and young at heart. You like parties and are happiest with an audience.

  3. The Chinese New Year happens in the month  we western countries call February. Their calendar is lunar so their New Year changes from time to time, but I notice it usually falls between Feb. 1-8th. Because you were born in January it would still be considered the year of the Monkey, it didn't change until Feb. to be the year of the Rooster.

Sandra K, I didn't say it ALWAYS is in Feb. I said I noticed that it usually is in Feb.

  4. Your not a monkey, your a rooster. I'm a rooster too, and I was born in the same year as you.
