I do not have a fire wire port on my PC. Is there a dv cable that I can use for a cam to PC?

I have a Samsung Mini DV camcorder that I would like to save my sd-card to my laptop. I understand that you can purchase a dv cable and make sure that it has a firewire port on your pc. I do not have a firewire port. I would like to know if there is a dv cable that I can use for a usb port.

No, minidv camcorders require a firewire connection. If you have an empty bay on your laptop, you can purchase a card.
