Question:

I do not hold insurance on my car - can my mum drive it legally under her insurance?

The car is taxed, and I need to get it to the garage for its MOT (compulsory UK road-worthiness test) - except I have no insurance yet for this year. My mum has an insurance policy on her own car, but does it cover her to drive my car to the garage for me? I believe typical insurance policies insure the holder on any car if they're over 25, but I want to confirm this.

  2. no the insurance has to be for that vehicle

  3. she would only have third party cover on your vehicle if she has use of other cars on her FULLY COMP policy... AND ALSO: THE OTHER CVehicle also needs to have AT LEAST Third Party cover.
