The Heerenveen sporting director insists that his side does not want to sell the Moroccan international this summer while admitting that the 31-time Eredivisie champions are interested in the young attacker.
Heerenveen sporting director, Johan Hansma, has confirmed that Ajax Amsterdam are interested in signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oussama-Assaidi-c28900 in the ongoing summer transfer window.
However, the club chief is still unsure of whether the Amsterdammers will table another bid to acquire the Moroccan international’s services after watching their earlier offer rejected by the Heerenveen management.
The 23-year-old, who started his professional career at Omniworld in the 2006/07 season, arrived at Abe Lenstra Stadion in the summer of 2009 after making 17 league appearances for De Graafschap.
Following his consistent showings for the Friesland outfit for the past couple of seasons, netting 19 goals while setting up plenty more along the way in over 50 league matches, several clubs expressed interest in luring the talented
attacker away from Abe Lenstra Stadion this summer.
Galatasaray were the closest in landing his signature, but the deal fell apart after both parties failed to reach an agreement over personal terms.
The Heerenveen chief has revealed that the Eredivisie champions are still interested in luring the Moroccan international to Amsterdam Arena before the start of the 2012/13 season.
“Ajax made an approach some two weeks ago, but we did not agree terms. I don't know whether they'll return for him”, Hansma was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
The Heerenveen chief went on to insist that his side will not let go of their star player this summer, until a very good offer comes in before the summer transfer window slams shut.
“Oussama will stay at Heerenveen unless a good offer comes in”, Hansma concluded.
Assaidi, who has thus far played 68 league matches while donning the jersey of Heerenveen, has a contract at Abe Lenstra Stadion that is due to expire in the summer of 2013.
