  1. The Australian Taxation Office supplies everyone a "Tax-Pack" which is just an information booklet, Most people don't try to understand the tax system instead they hire an accountant for about $80.00 and than claim that $80.00 back the next year from the Tax Office, simple, Price is between 80 to 120 dollars, of cause the more work the accountant has to do the more he will charge you as time is money, as far as ABN if you are not in business yourself don't worry about it.

  2. If you don't understand our tax laws it's much easier and safer to go to an accountant or tax agent.

You can download the 2008 Tax Pack at:

    http://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/conten...

    Australian Tax Office Definitions -

    http://www.ato.gov.au/corporate/content....

    Australian business number (ABN)

Your ABN is your identifier for certain dealings with the ATO and other government departments and agencies.

    I think you mean GST.

    Goods and services tax (GST)

The GST is a broad-based tax of 10 per cent on most supplies of goods and services consumed in Australia. On 1 July 2000 the GST replaced wholesale sales tax which was applied at varying rates to a range of products.

  3. Get a "Tax pack" from a Newsagent, this has all the information you need

  4. Asking this question 10 times you should know that its GST T not D.

An ABN (Australian Business Number) is for businesses.

GST (Goods & Services Tax) is a tax on all services, for instance, buy a big mac, someone has made it so you pay GST. GST is normally incorporated into the price, the main exception is if you have had handyman work done, i.e painting, tiling, etc. In which they add the GST seperate.

You can go to an accountant or do your Tax return yourself with a Tax pack or using Etax. Its very simply.

Your income including any benefits from Centrelink is used to work out your taxable income, from there you are put on a tax scale. The first $6000 is tax free. You can then use deductions (uniform, travel, donations, etc) to help reduce your taxable income.

Your employer deducts PAYG (pay as you go) tax from your wages.

If you pay more tax then you need to, you get a return.

In a couple of weeks a Tax Pack will be delivered to every household, read that and if you have any questions ring the ATO.

I strongly suggest you visit a tax agent or account to do your tax return as you seem to struggle comprehending how it works. They can charge $30 - $200.

  5. The Australian Tax Office website explains all this very clearly.

If you have to put in a tax return, eg you've been working here, get a tax pack from a newsagent, or download E-Tax from the ATO website and fill it in online, or pay a tax agent to do it for you.

ABNs are for companies or people working for themselves.  If you don't know what it is you don't need to worry about it. I have no idea what GSD is, it's nothing to do with the Australian tax system.

  6. search it up in google or wikipedia
