I have never had credit and never want it. I would like to protect myself from fraud without having to call every bank, retailer or credit to cancel my credit. And if I have to sign up for a service that protects me, my children and my wife it will cost me more than my existing health insurance!

  1. You cannot block credit for your name because there are others who have the same name as you.

You can request a freeze on your credit file.  This effectively blocks credit for your social security number.  It is not permanent.  You would have to redo it every few years.

  2. Go to the 3 credit bureaus and put a freeze. It' cost about 10 bucks apiece.
