okay, please before you tell me that i shouldn't do such a thing please download the song first and listen

i have chosen that i do not want to walk down the aisle to the original and traditional Wedding March

i wanted to use something more unique, that sticks out, and is genuinely beautiful =]

and the song i would love to use is

Beautiful by HIM

yes i know they are a heavier band, i do love their work, but this song is beautiful and i do believe it fits what i am looking for, but i would love peoples opinions, or i would love to know if anyone else has ever thought about using this song lol, or more like this band?

  1. I attended a wedding in May ('08) and they didn't use the Wedding March, and it was the most awkard wedding I'd ever attended. They played a song and it took her about 45 seconds to walk down the isle and everyone was standing and looking around wondering what was going on for the other 3 minutes it took for the song to finish.

So, even though it's your day - please consider how it will "actually" be.

  2. Use whatever you want. Just make sure that if you're getting married in a church, your church allows you to use secular music.

  3. Lots of  people choose not  to use  the traditional wedding march these days. Quite frankly I think it's been done to death  almost to the point where it's become something of a cliche.  Use whatever you want, the wedding Police aren't going to break down the church door and  call a halt to proceedings if you use something else. Just make sure that your church don't have any objection to  you  using something secular (some do) and don't be afraid to  let your personality shine through on this important day.

  4. if you are getting married in a church, then you need to use a traditional song.. and I totally agree about not using the Wedding March - it's actually from a pagan opera and sung as the bride is leaving the wedding.

Anyways, I suggest Canon in D or Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. They are both beautiful songs and familiar.

If you want something a little more non-traditional, go for At Last. It's pretty and appropriate.

  5. Use whatever you want. It can have lyrics if you want. Unless you're getting married in a church which has music restrictions (nearly all do), it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of the music you have chosen. You won't be able to please everyone, so your entrance song should only matter to you, not anyone else, including strangers online.

  6. I love that song by HIM(and love the band a lot =) ). So I say go with what you want. It's your wedding not anyone else's. Just make sure the place you are getting married at is okay with that sort of thing. I'm not using the normally wedding march either.  You shouldn't have to because like I said it's YOUR wedding.

  7. I first heard this song and I fell to tears. I knew this song had to be part of my wedding. It says everything that my fiance feels about me! Its fabulous! Congrats on the wedding and I dont blame you for not wanting the wedding march!!!

I like the him song but honestly it doesnt have wedding apeal to me! Thats just my opinion. Love HIM but not for a wedding!

  8. I dont want to walk down to the wedding march either... i really liked canon D to walk down to. But i also read that more people are using actual songs instead of the wedding march. So if you havnt been to a wedding that has done that. be the first. Never know more people might like it after and follow in your foot steps :)

  9. I love HIM, and I love that song.

Also, not that many people walk down the aisle to the Wedding March. Many people use Pachelbel's Canon, and others chose unique songs like you.
