I don't exactly know what this quote means, so can anyone give me an idea?

  1. It means: The founding fathers didn't necesarily make all people equals, but they did give the most amount of freedom available to that time period. In other words, women and African americans (as we call them now) were not considered equals to men and whites (some people still don't think they are, unfortunately) What the DID do however, is give the people of this nation freedom from monarchy, freedom to say what the wanted without the fear of being imprisoned, freedom to bear arms, the ability to select/ elect who they wanted in office, etc...hm...where did those days go anyway....so much for our government "of the people, by the people and for the people" (A.L., 1863)
