I don't get as to why they fight?

why are vampires and werewolves enemies? i don't get why they hate each other.

a fascinating question...see it all began when werewolves became a sort of threat to the existence of vampires..im not quite sure as to what year this started but it was definitely some time during the dark ages, as you know vampires are inherintly very arrogant and so felt like they were the only ones who should be feared but then when werewolves came along they felt that they had to start competeing, and so the two of them have all this time been competing for our fear..but then, as far as i remember..there was this one time, a truly unique occurence in history when a werewolf and a vampire actually became romantically involved, a very romeo-juliet scenario evolved out of the whole thing and there was actually a point in time when vampires and werewolves actually got along and it seemed like everythn was going to be okay but then humans discovered the two doing it and torched the vampire but they did nothing to the werewolf and there is still no explanation as to why that kind of action was taken, obviously the vampires were enraged, not only had one of their men been tortured and then 'killed' but the werewolf was left uharmed and so they formed an idea that werewolves were in fact not creatures of the underworld such as them, but simply creatures who lived and cooperated with humans, peacfully, and more importantly, they believed that werewolves had also formed a plan with humans to eradicate vampires by getting together with them and then handing them over to what they thought was a common enemy...now i dont know if this is true or not because werewolves always give these "no comment" answers so im just telling you what i heard...but its really an age-old conflict and i honestly dont believe that we will ever find the true origin of its beginning

because werewolfs were slaves of the vampires for thousands of years but now a revolution is started...according to the movie underworld that is...

I'm fascinated that you asked this question in the "History" forum.  You know that neither vampires nor werewolves are real, right?
