I don't get what it means when it says wash with like colors?

I have some polos and I don't know if i should just wash them altogether. I know not to wash them with jeans because i've seen the results. Can I wash my polos with anyother cotton shirts. I got some polos with all different colors.

Wash your polos with polos in cold water they will be fine.

Black, red , dark orange, dark blue, dark gray, dark green all go together

Light pink, light blue, beige, yellow, light green   light gray all go together

whites alwys go separet

jeans should always be washed separet.

If none of them are brand new, you should be able to wash different colours together at a reasonable temperature (not hot) without getting colour changes. New clothes and sometimes not so new ones tend to lose some of their colour in the wash, especially in high temperatures. Usually it is best if you wash whites separately from colour, but always check the right temperature in the tags so you don´t wash together delicate whites with, say, white towels that could use a higher temperature.

Washing colors in cold water if you have questions is best. Wash colors like navy blue, black, brown, etc together, and pastels together. Always wash red clothes at least once by themselves to make sure they don't bleed (the color comes out onto the other clothes). You can also buy those sheets to put in the wash with colors (does Shout make them?) that pick up the excess color in the water, that keeps darker colors from bleeding into the lighter colors.

If your polo's are print polo's, which means there is a design on them that is only on the outside - not when you turn them inside out, then you should turn your polo's inside out when washing them as the print can hit against the agitation barrel in your machine and will eventually wear away.

Use dark and light guides.  You can wash previously washed polo's, cottons of the same weave at the same time, but you should separate the dark items from the lighter items.  Sometimes, when you are washing a darker item for the first time, there is a residual of the dye's that come into the washing waters especially with dark blues and dark reds.  If you have a white polo in with these darker colors when washing them, there is a chance that it will come out of the wash as a light blue or a pink.

Wash with like colors means to wash with colors that are similar. So like blue can be washed with purple or green. Same goes with red, orange, yellow, etc.
