I want to go to Nottingham and then to Derby but when i arrive i will only have a 10Min's before the last train leaves which doesn't leave enough time to buy a ticket. Can i ask for a ticket to derby at my train station would that work?

  1. Penalty Fare, which is double the standard single fare to the next station or £20 minimum, plus then a standard single to your destination added on.

Get a ticket before you travel.

Saver returns are only valid if the journey is over 50 miles from your start point, anything below this distance is cheaper to buy two single tickets, also if you are travelling during the week, then restrictions will apply to travel times.

    Hope this helps

  2. jump it

  3. try to get a permit to travel, quick and easy and cheap.

  4. yeah you can ask to buy your station or you can also just pay for your ticket once you board the train when the ticket inspector comes round.

    Hope this helps

  5. Yes, that is fine, just tell the station that you are starting at exactly where you want to go and they will give you a ticket to cover the whole route.

Don't forget to ask for a 'return' ticket if you are coming back that way on the SAME day.  If you're coming back a different day then you just want to buy a single ticket.

    Good luck and have fun.

    :o)

  6. Buy two tickets at your station - one to Nottingham and one Nottingham to Derby. They can do this.

Actually the Red Arrow non stop coach is best for Nottingham - Derby.
