I wanted to delete unnecessary files on my PC, but now i don't have any sound at all. I tried to play a movie and the following appears on the screen:

Media Player could not render some of the pins in the graph, you may not have the needed codecs or filters installed on the system.

I tried to install some codecs, but nothing works so far

What should i do?

  1. 1.  Only remove files through: Disk Clean up, Add/Remove Programs and or the "uninstall program" with programs you are no longer using.  Another group to remove are files you created.

    2.  It could be that you removed you sound driver files.

    a.  Go into the device manger --> Is there a listing for "unknown device"?  Is there anything listed under: Sound, video and game controllers?

    b.  In the Control Panel under Sound, what is listed as the playback device?  (Sound Tab in XP or the front page for Vista)

    3.  Need Operating System and Make and Model of the computer (if pre-built like HP or Dell) or the make and model of the sound card so we can point you to the correct drivers.

  2. You probably deleted some of the drivers, try reinstalling them again...

  3. Click on your sound icon on the side of your computer, click to make the sound higher, if that dosen't work, make sure eerything is pluged in on the bottom, or just turn up your volum! :)

    Hope i Help!
