  1. soccer cleats arent appropriate for running track. the spikes that come with the running shoes u buy are way different than soccer cleats because theyre suitable for the track's surface. i would say run in your crappy running shoes because they wont let u compete if u have soccer cleats lol. get yourself some spikes theyre not expensive most of them are around $50 and up. good luck

  2. DO NOT WEAR soccer cleats on a track.  It will ruin the track, your shoes, and there is a good chance you will get hurt.  The studs on the cleats won't dig in and plant in the track surface.  Wear your running shoes and you probably won't get hurt

  3. Regardless of how crappy your regular running shoes are, they will be your best bet because they're most likely broken in and are somewhat form-fitting to your own feet.  If you get a new pair of shoes and wear them for the first time tomorrow, you will not do well because they haven't had a chance to be broken in.

Nobody can tell you the right kind of shoe to get for your feet.  You have to try them on, walk around in them, and find for yourself what fits you best.  The best shoe isn't about brand, it is about how well it fits your own feet and how comfortable you are in them.  If your regular running shoes fit you well, then just use those tomorrow, and then go shopping for shoes for the next race.  A quick fix for the regular shoes would be to go get some soft insoles - Dr. Scholl's or something similar - which will give you more padding, comfort and structure.  If you get them in a regular grocery or department store, chances are they won't need to be broken in much as other high-end insoles (just wear them around tonight to get used to them).

Then, after your meet, start shopping for the new shoes.  Look at high end insoles, as well, because that can really make a difference in the comfort level of your shoe.  Make sure you give yourself enough time to break them in, though, before you use them.

    Good luck!
