  1. The big deal about Ferraris and Porsches: they are fast and expensive.

You shouldn't bother learning things about cars to impress your boyfriend--he should like you the way you are.

  2. Porsche and Ferrari make about the most thrilling vehicles on the road.

They're expensive, fast, and unlike any other vehicles on the road.

  3. www.howstuffworks.com

go the auto section and read about the basics. really helpful.

  4. the basic thing about ferrari's are that they are made in italy by hand and are insanely fast but will cost a hefty sum all of them carry a 6 digit price tag. porches depending on the model also carry a 6 digit sum. but porche's are german cars. They all usualy have the same basic body shape excluding the carrera gt. These cars are known for being ferocious and luxurious. they are also in a group of cars known as supercars. Ford, chevy and dodge are basic cars with barely any exceeding $90,000. they are mainly used as everyday cars while ferrari's and porches are also daily cars, they can be taken to a track and go far past 150 mph. so in the end the big deal about ferarri's and porches are they are european, cost more, faster, and have MUCH better build quality. also, their maintenance cost is also very high due to the fact of exotic parts only made by them.

  5. well, i guess the thing about cars that everyone has to know, is the engine. the engine runs the car, and its connected to the four wheels. the different layouts of a car are 2wd, 4wd, and AWD. 2wd (2 wheel drive) means that the cars engine is connected to just two of the wheels, either the front two, or the back two. then the other two wheels that the engine isnt connected just follow the car. the 4wd and the AWD layouts are the same, the engine is connected to all four of the wheels, so the engine's power is divided evenly between each of the 4 wheels. also, all engines are different. for example, a smaller engine theoretically give a car less horsepower, but better fuel economy. while a bigger engine will give a car more horsepower, but worse fuel economy. that's just the basic thing about engines, if you want to find more about how engines work, or just more about cars just go to howstuffworks.com, and go to the automobile section.

now for your other question. Ferraris and Porsches are big deals because they are expensive, fast, and rare to see. all Ferraris and Porsches are basically street-legal race cars. their engines give out tremendous horsepower, and they are all racing tuned. Ferraris and Porsches are considered as "exotics". all Ferraris are handmade, including the engine, interior, and the bodywork. Porsches, while not as exotic as Ferraris, are still considered exotics because they have great performance. also, all their parts are hard to find, and hard to make.

  6. First of all, your boyfriend should like you for you, you shouldnt have to have the same interests... but anyway ferrari and porche are really expensive cars along with lamborghini and mercedes-benz and lexus and infinity and acura... cheaper and more "average" cars would be toyota honda, ford, chevy, dodge, saturn, pontiac...
