  1. You can check the probate office in the area where you were born. They are the ones that would have your adoption record and you can file to have the record open, or in some states they only release non-identlifing information about the birth parents.

Also, you may luck out like my husband did. He went to the town he was born in(listed on his birth certificate), to the town hall. The lady placed the record book up on the counter and he saw that his "new" birth certificate was glued to the top of anouther paper, which was his origianal birth certificate. He still has not tracked down his adoption record, but he knows that he is adopted, so it is a start.

  2. hey man if ther not giving straight answers then youre probably right . your berth certicet want show anything because they give your perants a new one . look for legall papers to find out

  3. Sadly no, your birth certificate will not tell you if you were adopted. If you were adopted, you'd have been given a new birth certificate with your adoptive parents' names put there in place of the people who gave birth to you.

I can give you one suggestion, though. In every family there's one person who can't keep a secret if they're put on the spot. Lots of times it's an aunt or a grandma. Ask around (nicely of course) and see if anyone has pictures of your mom when she was pregnant with you. It's a way for them to let the cat out of the bag without telling them what you suspect.

  4. When U turn 18!!!

  5. If they won't give you a straight answer, that's a pretty good clue that they are trying to hide something. Check with other members of the family - aunts and uncles, grandparents etc, but put it in the form of an open ended question, like, "How long did my parents have to wait until they adopted me?" That way it sounds like you know what you are talking about. If they say, "Oh, you'll have to ask your parents," then you'll know you're on to something. But they might simply say "Well, they had to wait two years," and assume that your parents had already told you you were adopted.

Or they might laugh and say,'Good grief! Where did you get that notion! You weren't adopted." And then you'll know that your suspicions are correct.

One other tactic might be to figure out when you were born, back up the dates a little bit and find out if anyone has pix of your mom a couple of months before you were born. You should be able to tell by looking at her whether she was preggers or not.

  6. wow. they won't tell you! well i would find out quick.
