I hate taxes. They take too much money off my paycheck. So, of course, I want to file my taxes and try to get that money back. Unfortuantely, I'm afraid I might be too young to file taxes. So I'm wondering if there is a certain age requirement. If anyone knows, please share!

  1. Yeah, as soon as you're born and even after you die.  There is no age requirement on taxes; there are infants who have tax liability and file tax returns, handled by their parents until they're old enough to do it themselves.

  2. There is no age requirement. If they take taxes out you can file. Welcome to the real world.

  3. No, there's not an age limitation, but there are income thresholds where you MUST file taxes.

And you're smart to want to try to get that money back.  You'll need a 1040EZ form from the IRS, and a W2 from your employer... next year.  Filing deadline for 2007 has passed.

  4. If you have taxes deducted and have a refund coming your age doesn't matter -- no charge --   8~)

  5. If you're working you can file. If you're a minor you should file with your parents. If not, just file on your own.

  6. There is no retirement age. You must file return if your income exceeds the filing limit.

  7. No, there's no age requirement.  A baby who has income can and might be required to file, although obviously the parents would file their return.
