This recruiter agency called me in for Monday to come with a void's cheque and ID for a Project Coordinator position thats for 3 weeks with a very big company - she says. However, she was reluctant to tell me about the pay assuring that its not going to be a high pay. What should I do?

  1. go Monday go through what ever you do when an opportunity comes ask when she tells you if its not enough say i was looking for something in the $X range my research shows that would be an appropriate compensation level for this position.

You need to go to salary.com to put in your area and the job responsibility to get a pay range.  be ready to hold to your guns about what you want and think is fair if you can' come to an agreement be ready to walk.

  2. lol how desperate are you for a job? you may not have much of a choice. just take the job.

  3. This sounds like it could be an identity theft scam. Normally (at least in the US) an employee is interviewed, knows the name of the company, is formally offered the job, and accepts, before they are asked for ID and/or a voided check. Doing anything else reeks of dishonesty.

If it's not an identity theft scam, they may be trying to get you to work for very little. At least, don't show any ID until you are sure of the company and the salary.

  4. Call back and ask!

  5. not accept? o.O
