I don't know what kind of ice skates to get?

i am in freestyle 5. i am working on axel, double salchow, double loop, and double toe loop. and everything else.

  1. It sort of depends on what you're willing to spend.  Since you're working on doubles, you'll want a boot with substantial ankle support.  What brand of skates are you skating in now?  If you're happy with them, I'd stick with the same brand.  Each foot is different and so is each brand, so many times skaters find a brand that works for their foot and they stay with that brand.  Personally, I like Harlick's.  They work for my feet and I think they're pretty. :)  Your coach and your pro shop can probably point you in the best direction for you.  For higher level boots, I've heard good things about Riedells, Harlicks and SP Teri.  Also get a good blade recommendation from your coach.

  3. I would suggest getting a Riedell Silver Star with an MK professional blade. You can go to your local pro shop for some other suggestions, and to be sized for skates. Good luck!
