I don't know what sport I was watching on TV?

It looked like rugby and the rules looked similiar to rugby, but the players were using sticks that looked like field hockey sticks. They were hitting the ball hundreds of feet sometimes to score. It looked like it was being played in the UK but I was in a bar and there was no sound so I do not know what I was watching. It looked cool though!

Its called ice rugby dumb a.ss, Its a very popular game in the western world in the winter months

Sounds like Hurling.  It's an Irish sport.  I saw a few games years back and thought it looked awesome but then it just disappeared from TV in New Zealand.

I have an Irish buddy here and we have some good talks about Rugby and Hurling... sounds like a crazy sport I would have given a go if I was Irish!

Search Wikipedia and/or Youtube for "Hurling" and you'll probably find something on it and then you'll know if thats what it is.... although "hurling" on youtube could just get you a bunch of people throwing up!!!

i think hawkeye has it. im irish and i played it in my day. sounds like hurling. check it out to see anyway.
