Im going on vacation (3-4days) and I cant bring my dog with me...all the kennels are asking over 300 dollars for the time I will be gone. I am thinking he can stay outside with the hunting dogs...they all have shelter, fresh food, clean water and room to roam...would that be wrong on my part?

he has some separation issues, so staying with another person, and destroying there house will not be good

there will be someone to check on him everyday

would that be wrong on my part?

what could be my other options

  1. Check with your vet. When I go out of town my dogs stay at the vet (in kennels) and it is only $14 a night per dog. If you usually leave the dog inside when you are gone for short periods then just leave your dog inside and have someone come over to check on it ect. Either option sounds good to me.

  2. The same thing happened to me and I was panicked.  One of the girls who works at our vet took Trixie home with her for the week.  She charged me half the price of the vet and Trix got one-on-one care and even made a new kitty cat friend.  She also likes going to the vet even better now.

  3. Do you have anyone who could stay at your house for the time you are gone who could dog sit for you? A friend that he knows?

  4. Have you checked with your vet? Vets often do boarding, and it's usually cheaper than kennels.
