  1. I agree, do AmeriCorps for one or two rounds, and you will have the money to go to a community college!  It will give you a break and help you know yourself better.  Many people start at a community college, BTW.  There are lots of things you can do--look at the college catalogs for your local community colleges and see the vast array of certificates and degrees you can get.

As a dependent if your family is having money troubles, you will probably qualify for financial aid, if you decide to start college right away.  You can also find out about apprenticeship programs, where you get paid while you are learning a trade.  Your local CC usually participates in this as well.

  2. You can go to a Junior college and apply for financial aide.  Or you can join the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps (sort of like public service) and they'll give you a stipend for school.

  3. www.fafsa.ed.gov i think is the site. or google free fafsa. you fill it out and its financial aid...and itll base the amt on your household income from the taxes filed for that year. once you file, wait a few days and check for the amt the fafsa thinks you are able to pay. however they may s***w you over. my family has a rather high income, yet cant afford to pay for college...so i take out loans. which is another option and im sure you will be offered it. apply to scholarships...grants...financial aid...everything you can possibly do. talk to your counselor and get some ideas. thatst what he/shes there for!  good luck!

  4. Yeah I'm in a similar situation but what I'd do is evaluate what i'm good at and go from there. plus, as far as college goes, there are ALOT of different scholorships out there for more than just grades

so the more you apply for the better chances you'll have to be able pay for college. Thats what I'm doing anyways

You should also talk with your school counsler they can try to help you out as well
