for some reason when I think about daisy girl, my border collie I start to worry about her future. stupid stuff that I shouldn't have to worry about yet. she is only 2 but I get off thinking what If

what if something happens to her?

what if she gets sick?

what if she runs off?

what if she gets hit by a car?

I can't live without my girl, when we first took her in, she wasn't exactly my favorite animal in the world...I taught her how to jump and run agility and we bonded. she is a little over protective of me but I see past that, as it has not been a problem for us.

she is not sick, and as far as I know she is healthy, but for some reason I keep worrying bout her, I have had her for 2 yrs in october, this is something that just recently started.

is it something that all owner go through?

or is it sub conciously, maybe I noticed somthing different about her that didn't register?

is it just something that I worry about, because I am afraid to loose her? here is a pic she is really an awesome dog as long as you are not a stranger she loves agility hates men, goes crazy over being sprayed with a water hose or put in a pool. this is my girl

  1. It's TOTALLY normal, I do the exact same thing with my little Golden, I worry about her so much. I wont leave her outside while I'm gone, even for a little while because I'm afraid somebody will steal her. I hate to leave her even when she's inside because I worry so much about her getting sick, or hurting herself while I'm away. sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night just to make sure she's okay, and she doesn't need a drink or anything.

I think its okay to worry about your dog, especially if you love her as much as I love mine :)

    By the way, she's beautiful!

  2. It's normal to worry, and I think women tend to be a bit more worrisome than men :) The first year of Lacie's life I was constantly waking in the middle of the night and would check to make sure she was breathing. :) I was convinced that I was going to somehow lose this beautiful girl and it terrified me. She's now three and still alive and kickin' :) It's the same with children...mothers tend to worry. I'm sure your dog is healthy, and you need to just enjoy every moment you have with her...don't let the worrying get you down. When push comes to shove...there are a lot of things you have no control over, so might as well do the best you can to manage what you can control, and cherish your time with your dog.

  3. She's a very beautiful dog, she looks like more of a Border/Aussie mix.

Anyway, its normal to worry. I worry about my guys too, what if I don't have money at one point and time and they need something, what if they escape the yard, so on and so forth, and its just a "mothers" worry.

Parents do the exact same thing. It comes along with loving something more than you ever could have thought possible.

  4. She is really cute.  I think when you really bond with an animal they become like a child and of course it is natural to worry about them.  I would say you are worrying too much as she is only young, but I never put 2nd sense past people, so I would say go to the vet and talk to them and see if they can do some blood work to make sure she is ok.  That might put your mind at ease.  If you think you are becoming overly obsessive about her then you might want to talk to your family doctor.  I hope this helps!

  5. It's only normal to worry about your pet because they become part of the family!

  6. I'm sorry, I don't know how to help you. I just want to say that, I kinda know how you're doing. See, I just rescued a dog three months after my past one died of cancer. Now, sure, I love my new dog, Ten, very much, but I always think, "Someday he's going to die, isn't he? He's going to get old, he's not going to like his toys, he'll just want to sleep..."

It's really hard having to think like this. But my thoughts are, change is change, and all this worry is just more reason to love your dog even more. Every one of them is different, and lovable in there own way. We need to stop worrying and make their lives the best that it can, and if anything goes wrong, we'll see them again in heaven. Right?

I hope that you can stop worrying. And I hope that I can stop worrying, too. I really do. :]

  7. In my opinion you feel like a mother to her. You don't want anything to happen to her because you love her so much.
