Question:

I don't like Proteins!! but i need it?

Hi, i'm 14 years old, and i don't like proteins , but i know that i need that ( meat, chicken , fish) and I'm Lactose Intolerant ( i only drink Soy milk) my doctor says that maybe i need to do a Protein alergic test. But i need to get more proteins. what can i do to replace Meat?

  1. have you tried certain nuts, ther is also a brand called morning star farms that has alot of vegetarian things and it doesn't have any dairy. i love it. good luck!


  2. At your young age you need plenty of animal protein for growth as vegetable protein is mostly incomplete protein.  Lactose free milk from major super markets is certainly one option.

    Perhaps you could eat a lot of eggs or oysters or mussels if you don't like meat, chicken or fish.

    Soy milk is no good as it hinders the absorption of zinc and you could lose up to 50% of your zinc intake.  Some kids in Asia who thrived on soy products have grown into short adults due to a zinc deficiency caused by soy products.
