An electron, charge -1.6 x 10^-19 C, in a cathode ray tube experiences a force of 3.0 x 10^-15 N towards the south. Calculate the magnitude and direction of the electric field at that point.

I got 1.875 x 10^4 N/C North

Am I right?

  1. Electric field = force per unit positive charge

    => 3 x 10^(-15) / 1.6 x 10^(-19) N/C North

    = 1.875 x 10^4 N/C North

    You are right.

  2. Not liking electricity is a common problem

    but you got it right

  3. You've got it baby.

    Don't report me or anything- jk. :)
