  1. Take a good quality multi-vitamin/mineral daily.

Go to a health food store & ask for a "reds powder for fruits & a "greens" powder for vegetables.  You mix it with water, juice, milk, etc.

They give you all the vitamins & nutrients that you'd get from fresh fruits & vegetables.

    Good luck

  2. you don't need to gain weight, i'm 5'5 and 104 lbs

try other fruits and veggies. if everything out there makes you gag, then eat really healthy and vitamins

  3. OK?

  4. How about fruit juices, like apple, grape or orange, V8 juice.=)

  5. Make sure and take a multivitamin supplement every day. You really need these nutrients that you're not getting, especially at your age.

But its not a huge problem. I've known plenty of kids who are healthy, but don't eat many veggies or fruits.

Make sure and play and exercise too. You'll be just fine, don't worry so much about it.

  6. substitute them...try fuit juices or add icecream to a banana i heard that works...

  7. There really is no substitute for fruit and vegetables in your diet.

Try tasting fruits and vegetables that you have never tried before and see if you have the same problem with all of them. I used to think that I hated cheese...but all my mom bought when I was a kid was Velveeta (which I still detest)...once I discovered Colby and Muenster, I was off and running, and cheese is one of my favorite foods now.

Do you have the same problem if the fruit is cooked, like in a pie or cobbler?  How about cooked vegetables?  Juices? Try to get them into your diet in any way that you can.  You could try flavoring them with spices and herbs to make them taste better too.

  8. I know the feeling, believe me. What I did to fight this was to read everything and anything on fruits and veggies.  It successfully changed my outlook. I did mind-setting on the values of every single one of them.  I even make drinks out of a mixture and viola!!!!  yummy is the word! I can send you a list if you're interested.  In the meantime, challenge yourself.  It is for your own good anyway.

    Cheers!!!

  9. im 12 and i love fruit. have you evr tried a smoothie? how about some like V8 kinda stuff. google  it. do you like yogurt?

  10. Have you tried making a smoothie with low fat yogurt and fresh or frozen fruit? You can make some awesome things and get your servings of fruit but it's like drinking a delicious milkshake!

As for the vegetables, try getting whoever cooks to cut them up small and cook them into thing, such as burgers and pasta dishes. This way it's tiny, and you won't feel like your eating a vegetable. You could also put vegetables in a blender with sour cream or cream cheese to make a spread to put on crackers. Again, you get your veggies, but it's not like your eating veggies.

Just try to come up with other ideas like this.

As for substitutions, just make sure you're taking a daily vitamin every day. Talk to your doctor about it and he can recommend a good multivitamin for you.

Of course, it's fiber you need, not JUST the vitamins. You can get drink mixes that make water delicious and have fiber in them. You can also take fiber pills (they're huge) or a tasteless, colorless powder to mix into foods and drinks.

I really suggest trying to incorporate REAL vegetables and fruits into your diet though.

Good luck! Let me know if this was helpful. :)

  11. Try making smoothies, drink V8, vitamins but dear you really do need to eat your fruits & veggies!

There has to be something you like?  Also bland boiled veggies are boring, try a nice stir fry.  Have you had Thai food before, they have lots of veggies.  Throw some veggies in a pasta or pizza.  Eat your fruit with ice cream or as a dessert.  Get creative and eat those fruits & veggies!!!!!

Try a mango, peaches, clementines, strawberries, cantalopes.......if my 4 yr old nephew can eat his spinach and brussel sprouts without complaining--- so can you.
