I don't like people in my age group?

Question

I'm 22 and I go to college. Do you think it's odd or abnormal that I really don't like and don't get along with other people my age? Most of my friends are in law school, and I date a woman who is 27. I just find alot of kids my age like knuckle heads who want to do nothing but party, and it doesn't interest me at all. I prefer being around an older crowd of people being mid to late 20's.

you sound like me when i was 16, all of the guys used to say i talked like an Old f**t because i would make fun of their childish ways and tell them how stupid they were. i think it has a lot to do with how you were raised. congratulations on being mature.

It's not odd.  Plenty of people prefer to mingle with older groups.

Yes there is nothing wrong with you. Personally I like people of all different ages I am 23 and I have friends from 22-50 you know what's funny though my 50 yr old friend is the least mature. So it is maturity and attitude that you have a preference for not age. I am sure you could find some like minded 22yr olds but on the other hand why should you have to?? Hang out with whatever age you want but remeber to have fun too. I always dated men that were 10 yrs or so my senior and it was good but now I date a 25 yr old and he is serious and mature but we can grow old together and relate on growing up in the 80's and 90's so that's always a plus of sticking with your age. But bottom line as long as you aren't spending your whole life with the elderly or with teens you shouldn't feel weird about relating to a different age group.

i hate people my age too (im 14)....but, honestly i just ignore them and mock the stupid ones...thats all i can do -___- and you sound exactly like me. i hate parties/dancing and would so prefer a heated debate with adults *sigh*

maybe you should think about law school if all your friends are in it - sounds like you'd fit right in - and you might wind up meeting some more serious minded people who are closer to your age.
