Question:

I don't like taking vacations; is this crazy?

I'm so addicted to routine and schedule, it's scary. I'm in love with work and money and love to work long hours at my job. I even frown upon taking breaks, and view being completely off from my job more than two days in a row as a death sentence. When I get my first full time job with benefits, I won't use my paid vacation, and I never plan on retiring. Last May, my family begged me to go with them on vacation to North Carolina for about a week. I told them no; I stood home and made lots of money at job working all seven days a week and it felt good. Whenever I'm on vacation, I pretty soon start to freak out and start thinking about work, school, and other things. It's like I basically put my social and leisure life on hold for some odd reason. What could this mean, have I gone crazy? What does everyone else think?

  1. You are soooo not crazy. You love work, and school. You have a different view than what other people have. For me it is nice to hear that. All I hear is

'I hate school! I dont want homework!" Blah blah blah.

I dont see it as you do. But I dont hate it.

You are a very organized girl. That will get you into some great colledges and jobs open. Keep working the way you want to work. And remember.....

    YOU ARE NOT CRAZY

  2. Work is predictable and controllable by you.  Work does not require an emotional commitment on your behalf, nor does it open you up to getting hurt.  Sounds like you a committed individual, but you are scared of the emotional side of commitment.

  3. You are too driven by the need to succeed...you had better change before it's too late. A forced vacation is in order.

  4. you know the expression, "All work and no play..."
