"Love means never having to say you're sorry."

What does this mean to you?

I think it means that when you Love somebody an apology is not required, that love will endure even thru the tough stuff. Which is pretty much horse sh**, Love means not hesitating to say you're sorry and admitting when you're wrong in order to make things good and right with your partner.

It was a line from a crappy sappy 1970 movie called "Love Story," a real tear jerker.

Even the people who came up with the line couldn't help making fun of it.

I don't like it much either. I think it puts too much pressure on the loved one. 'You know I love you, therefore you shouldn't be hurt anything I say or do, so I don't have to apologise.'

Yeah right.

I don't like it either, Love means saying your sorry even when you aren't. love means putting someone before yourself.

It's one of those sayings that sound really profound until you sit and think about it for a few seconds and then realise that it is complete lunacy and makes no sense whatsoever!

The phrase means that people in love never need to apologise to each other because they are always very quick to overlook mistakes and forgive...  It's a bit like a parent and child - sometimes the child will be stroppy or silly and the parents don't sit down and wait for an apology because they love their kids....BUT a good parent will expect an apology just to teach their children good manners and visa versa...If I have a bad day and snap at one of my kids I know I don't 'have' to apologise, but I do - it says a lot about the respect in our relationship and leads by example.

If you love someone, and you do something to hurt someone you would WANT to apologise quickly and make ammends.
