I don't like to open My Yahoo page and see and advertisement that I did not agree to.. How do I get it off?

  1. If it is a pop-up advertisement, you may be able to block it (see how below).  If you are referring to the advertisement below the "Personal Assistant", then I'm afraid you have to live with it as it is part of the new "Ad-driven" My Yahoo (beta).

    Internet Explorer:

    Go to Tools --> Internet Options

    Click on the privacy tab and make sure the "Block pop-ups" option is checked.

    Firefox / Netscape:

    Go to Tools --> Options...

    Click on the Content tab and make sure that the "Block pop-up windows" option is checked.

    Opera:

    Go to Tools --> Preferences

    Click on the General tab and make sure that "Block un-wanted pop-ups" is selected in the pop-ups section

    NOTE: I use Firefox (w/ pop-ups blocked) with the Ad-Blocker Plus extension and I still get the advertisement below the Personal Assistant.
