I don't quite get it...?

I don't really understand why it is that French teams are sabotaging the European Championship (Rugby Union) for next season. I have heard that they are, but no clear explanation of why (in plain English please)- any help please?

Is duny another pre pubescent kid? Not even half a sheep brain in his poor head.

Anyway, to talk about Rugby, if that's your aim, know that the english clubs have boycooted the competition as well and are quite happy that the french clubs did it first (due to the bonds with the RFU). Seems like the RFU wants to change the english championship as well, and the clubs don't really want it. But the main problem are the shares of the ERC, and, it seems, the world cup (disrupting the national championship calendars).

The English are as much to blame if that is the right word to use. Perhaps it is a bit much for the players to have both tournaments on in the same year. Maybe they should run the Heineken Cup 3 out of 4 years or every second year and invent a new tournament to include the likes of Argentina.

ie Year 1 World Cup

    Year 2 Heineken Cup

    Year 3 New Cup to include Argentina etc

    Year 4 Heineken Cup

BBC sport says that,"The French clubs are also thought to be unhappy at their domestic championship being disrupted by the World Cup, but Blanco said the shareholding issue was the main reason for the decision."

Therefore it is either over money(more likely) or do not want the tournament to disrupt their world cup preparations.
