  1. Real images can be projected. It normally relates to a mirrored image or one through a lens. If the image is magnified and inverted, it is real and projectable. If it is right side up, it is virtual and cannot be projected.


  2. A 'real' image is truly a strange sight.  It sort of floats in front of the mirror and it's three-dimensional.  You can get a headache looking at the thing, and you don't see them very often.  One place to look: go to a novelty or science store and see if they have one of those dish mirrors in which a penny appears to float in the middle of a hole.  That's a real image.  

    A virtual image is what you see when you look in the bathroom mirror.  They're lots easier to deal with.
