  1. People break the law due to ignorance and have to face punishment from a Court of Law. In such situations, the ignorance turn into curse instead of bliss.

  2. The phrase is normally "ignorance is bliss" or in an alternative version, "what he eye does not see, the heart does not grieve over".

The statement "ignorance is not bliss" therefore argues with this proverb, presumably on the basis that "knowledge is power".

Most proverbs have an equally valid opposite as in "Look before you leap" and its counterpart "he who hesitates is lost".

  3. The phrase is Ignorance is bliss, meaning what we don't know wont hurt us.

Example: The lack of knowlege to a situation. Usually once the whole truth is revealed you realize you were happier being clueless.

  4. Where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise. What you don't know can't hurt you, which is obviously idiotic!.

Knowledge is the best weapon. Sometimes uncomfortable, but nevertheless, knowledge can get you out of many difficult situations.

  5. Ignorance is not bliss because the more educated or informed you are and the more you know, then the better able you are to deal with the subject at hand or with daily living; the more experience you accumulate, the wiser you can become, if you can learn by your past mistakes.

Ignorance can cause distress rather than bliss. For instance, simple things like hot and cold- don't burn or freeze yourself, laws of nature and science - stay away from tall things like trees in a thunderstorm, traffic and city laws and ordinances ("ignorance of the law is no excuse"); being ignorant of things that can serve or protect you can have a poor result.
