Ok so I recently found out that my mom smokes weed a couple of times a week, which isn't that bad it's just kind of weird for me to find out. But her and my dad have been arguing a lot. We're having money problems and my dad just got fired from his job but they argue in front of me sometimes and I just wish they would shut up. My mom always complains about my dads drinking but then she goes and smokes weed. She's kind of a total hypocrite, because she also always tells me to not worry about a lot of stuff but then she goes and worries about a ton of things. I know I sound like a total ***** but I don't know. Help with how to deal with this? Thanks!

  1. It isn't easy to find out your parents are not perfect. You need to understand that both parents have their problems but you should just ask them to keep their problems away from you. Ask them not to fight in front of you and be honest with your mom maybe she would respect you more for it.

  3. This is weird. If I were you, I'd try to find some humor in it. But your mom is being a hypocrite when she complains about your dads drinking. Just try to ignore them and do your own thing as much as possible, it's alot easier that way

  4. She probably tells you not to worry about a lot of stuff because she is the parent with the responsibilty of keeping a roof over your head, food in your belly & clothes on your back. So as long as you have these necessities you should RESPECT her for providing them to you. You just concentrate on YOUR responsibilties which is getting a good education so that when you are grown, you can provide for YOURSELF and live your life the way you want. When your parents argue in front of you, try to get lost in a book or put some headphones on to drown things out or go outside to get away from the noise.Don't interfere with their arguments or give any input whatsoever. That's "grownfolks" business and they make their own decisions and mistakes. Just don't be a judgmental teenager with little respect cause then you make yourself look bad.
