I don't understand Football. What are the basic rules of the game?

Okay. Nfl players get the ball another side trys to stop them from getting touchdowns. The side with the ball is called offence and then other side is defence. The offence trys to get what is called a first down which is 10 yards. They are givin 3 chances to get a first down or they have to give the ball to the other team if they dont get a first down. Unless, the offence wants to go for a first down by trying on 4th down. If the offence dont get a first down on 4th down, the other team gets the ball right where  the opposite side was just on exept facing the other way. But if the offence wants to kick a field goal (a player of the offence trys to kick it between to sticks. and yeah so yay now you no football
