I don't understand graphics cards!?

I am looking at a laptop and on a website is says it has a nVidia GeForce 8600 M GT graphics card 256Mb graphics memory but on another website the same laptop it says NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

Video Memory 128 MB

could someone please explain

    The 8600 GT is better than the 8400 GS although it'll also use more power and generate more heat.


  2. The 8600 is better than the 8400, but it may generate more heat and use more power.

    If you play a few games on your computer, the 8600 would be better, but if you are just going to use the computer for home and office, the 8400 is already ok for you.

  3. Theoretically, the bigger the series, the better. So 8600 should be better than 8400. Although I can't say that 8600 will be better in all ways. And for same series, the bigger memory, it's also better. For more info, you can go to http://nvidia.com
