I totally understand that it's addicting but how does someone continue to get it? Are our doctors that irresponsible?

  1. yes! and alot of people have extended pescriptions based false pain.

it honestly isnt that hard for post surgery patients

  2. Our doctors use cocaine as a topical anesthetic for children.  Granted, they don't give it out in prescriptions, but reflect on that a minute.  A lot of doctors are addicted to the things they prescribe for people.  A lot of doctors lose their licenses to practice for malpractice.  You be the judge.

The answer to your question about "how they continue to get it" though generally lies in pain clinics - they are essentially "stores" to "buy" prescriptions.  You go in, vaguely describe your pain, and walk out with a script for 120 vicodin or oxycontin or whatever.  A lot of these are being shut down every day, but some of them (generally the more legitimate ones) continue to operate.  The people who use these "clinics" are generally familiar with the questioning process and know what the right answers are to get what they are after.
