Sure they haven't won a ring in a while, but you can't seriously think that they have to win it every year or every so often. It's not the players fault when they can't get a good pitcher. Think about "who" chooses what to do with that money as far as payroll and finding good players.....

Then again, they DO have more rings than any team even though none of which are recent. There's no doubt that there are a lot of Yankee haters out there, but seriously now.....how many times has your team been to the World Series and how many times have they won? I'm Yankees fan and I've seen there faults and shook my head when bad plays were made, but they are a great team.

And who really freakin cares about Arod's personal life? He does what he wants to do. If you want to dig into his personal life and knitpick everysingle thing that is happening to him, then we're not talking baseball anymore. As a player, he does well.

The phrase "Yankees Suck" is over rated now

  1. I think fans have the right to hate any team they want & I like the Yankees but it seems to me, that the many haters who say the Yankees suck & haven't won a title since 2000 are spending time more on hating the Yankees then cheering for their own teams & why could that be, maybe they haven't won anything in a long time either & are a sorry team that they can't be proud of.  Worry about your own team first rather whether the Yankees make post season or haven't won a title since 2000.

  2. They are a team everybody "Loves to Hate"

  3. yankees rule!!

  4. I dont know....i guess people love to hate them!

  5. One of the issues that may not seem obvious to you that does occur is that what is a hater to you is really just an anti-Fan to the rest of us.

I understand you would hate the term Yankee Suck, but have you counted how many "Yankees Rules" terms are out there?

For as any people that are fans of other teams, fans of NYY don't do themselves any favours with the comment like Red Sux and slights against the Mets, Cubs, anyone.

Being a fan of the Yankees, you see the negatives, but disregard the over zealous flamers who really know nothing about baseball, but say they like the yankees because they have 26 championships.

On the ESPN side, I was SICK to deal of seeing 26 in 04, followed up with 26 in 05, then the predictable 26 in 06.  Then, they got really creative and came up with 26 in 07.

With that sort of blinding faith, I'm hoping that I am see 26 in 45.

The other thing that creates 'hatred' are people that when asked who the best SS is in history, people reply with Jeter.

Yes, it's an opinion, and everyone's entitled to their opinion, regardless if it could be backed up with a single shred of evidence.

So, while it's easy to label people as haters, I would look internally to your fans as maybe a potential source of 'hatred'

  6. The Yankees are hated primarily because of their success. I'm sure some people dislike them because of the fans (somebody met a guy named Joey from the Bronx who was a loudmouth that rubbed them the wrong way), but I'm sure the Yankees would catch hate even if the fans were as well regarded as Cardinals fans. Success ALWAYS breeds envy and hatred.

I've been a Yankees fan for almost 30 years. When I was a kid, it used to bother me when people hated the Yankees. I never understood why. I mean, I grew up with the '80s Yankees, the team that didn't win anything. (They went to the Series in '81 and lost to the Dodgers.) Still, people all over didn't like them and seemed to be happy that they were not winning. Those previous titles made people dislike them more than any fan ever could have. As for the hate now: Whatever to it. I accept it and I'm good. Why? If your team is hated, that means they're thinking about you. And really, baseball is a lot more interesting when its biggest, most popular team (the Yankees) is in the mix. Bud Selig would be lying to you if he said otherwise.

By the way, as much as I dislike bandwagon fans, team owners love them. They know they'll have the hearts of their core fans. But new fans mean more merchandise sold, which means more money for the team.

I also think the term "Yankees suck" is wack, beyond the fact that I'm a Yankees fan. It shows immaturity and tells me you're not interested in talking baseball and only interested in trash talking. I'd say the same thing for Yankees fans who chant "Boston sucks."

As for A-Rod's personal life: I don't really care about it, either. But people love hearing about celebrities messing up. And if it happens in New York, you know it's gonna get attention.

  7. Everyone's just jealous of their STACKED lineup.

  8. i think its because of how immense the bandwagon was in the late 90s..after the world series wins through 1996-200, and the appearances again in 2001 and 2003, the wagon was full of people wanting to be yankee fans..so much so that as the enitre league, as a whole, witnessed a drop in payroll and profits, the yankees doubled from 2000 to 2008, and went from about 70 Mill (if that in 1996) to the 212 Mill its at now

people hated the yankees not just because of their sucess, but also because they were growing while the league was dying, and that pissed alot of fans of other teams off. in 1998 i believe the orioles payroll was abotu 10 Mill more than the yankee payroll, now the yankees payroll is abotu 4 times the orioles (for example)

and i guess when you win 4 times in 5 seasons, have the type of payroll they have, and operate the way they do (sign and drive, basically) people are going to hate the fact that they can throw money around at will..

and yes i believe that as long as ARod's affairs are kept off the field then the media should take a seat (or at least baseball fans should let it go) the HOF is full of adulterers and boozers and wife-beaters and druggies. this guy allegedly cheats on his wife and becomes public enemy  number 1..

ive been a yanks fan my whole life but i think this is what the franchise needs. A) a year without the yankees in the playoffs will help us lose more bandwagoners. B) it will be a reality check for the front office, and they can finally see that a franchise needs to develop players over time to be successful, like they did 20 years..C) they wont go giving these major contracts anymore (i hope) on wishful players---Carl Pavano robbed the yankees blind the last 4 years

so i feel you 100 percent and i hope i kinda gave a good reason why the yankees are so hated.

  9. theyre hated because of the $ and the fans

  10. B/c the fans of other teams want to make the Yankees the scapegoats b/c their owners are busy putting the money they make in their own pockets instead of helping improve their teams.

  11. Are you the same person who was yelling at everybody in a red hat outside Angel Stadium yesterday????

I meant were you the YANKEE FAN who was yelling at people wearing red hats. Sorry for the poor grammer.
