A book shelf has 6 different math books on the top level and 5 different language books at the bottom level. In how many ways can one book be picked?

I know it's a probability question but I'm not really sure what to do.

  1. 11 ways because there are 11 books.

  2. It would seem that the answer is 11 because there's 11 books, but if that's not the answer, then the book needs to phrase it better.
