  1. If you weren't trying to put people down, you wouldn't have started this topic.....  grow up.

  2. I am the thrift store queen

  3. Because some people living in this crazy economy have to resort to buying things used if they even buy things at all..so maybe you should re-consider being "scared" you cry baby..and get out there and donate your clothes and help out the less fortunate..and start praying one day that you don't end up dead broke having to buy your clothes at a second hand store..

And some people wash the clothes before they donate them..

I don't have to buy second hand clothes, but I sure do donate mine so that some family doesn't have to go without, so that some family can have back to school clothes, and so that some family can be warm in the winter..

AND maybe if you wouldn't be so close minded you would understand that not everyone is as fortunate as you think you are..and not everyone gets brand new clothes..

  4. Bed bugs are small, but visible. Just check closely, use some bleach.

  5. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! You're a friggin idiot! There's this thing called a washing machine... and another thing called a dryer...

  6. bed bug infestation.....? geez, it doesn't really matter, suck it up.

  7. Used clothing isn't any worse than wearing your own high priced clothing more than once. The idea is the same, wash it before you wear it. The only things you should not buy used are  underwear, socks and shoes. We have a thrift store in my town that has $4 bag day the first saturday of every month. I have filled a paper bag with everything form new (or looks new and sometimes still has the tags) clothing that I take home to wash and it is just fine. I can't tell you how much money I have saved doing this. I just bought one of my sons a new pair of Levi Strauss jeans without stains, rips, frays, tears or any other problem for 25 cents. Can't beat that with a stick.

Bed bugs stay where they know a still meal is going to be. They eat off of your  blood while you are in the deepest and most still sleep so moving bodies are not a good idea so they will not live or congregate where people are moving around. Besides, you can see them. They look like a cross between a beetle and a flea and are a little smaller that a house fly. They can be found under your mattress, around the trimming edges and even under your mattress protector and behind your headboard. Keep your house clean, the linens changed weekly and spray for insects every couple of months and you should be fine.

  8. its called being poor. and i boil in hot water. no biggy

  9. I don't understand why someone wouldn't buy used clothing. Why on earth would I pay $40 for a shirt to wear to work, where it's going to get dirty and stained pretty fast, instead of the $5 I pay at a thrift store? I've been buying used clothes for over 40 years and haven't gotten anything from any of it except some considerable savings in my clothing budget. I wash the clothes before I wear them, as I do with new clothes from a store. You don't exactly know who's been wearing those, either. If you think about it--people try clothes on in stores, people take the clothes home and even wear them a bit before returning them, and then you buy them.

  10. Bed bug infestation? If you are worried about bed bugs then don't buy a used mattress.

Washing clothing kills most critters as would the chemicals used in drycleaning.

  11. What if you couldn't afford nice clothing, would you rather go without clothes, I think not.

  12. most people only donate that which is still good or has life in it. i personally wash and press donated items before they go.

clothes ready for the trash can are clothes ready for the trash can.

I can tell you are less that 19 years old, not yet been on your own.

in college you will discover the good will and the amazing good stuff that can be found there.

  13. If you have ever stayed in a hotel, you have had material used by others come into contact with you.  It's just not that uncommon.  Pespective changes everything

  14. i agree but i don't think people should buy them from germs from their body

  15. I don't understand it either, but some people are okay with it.  I don't feel comfortable wearing things from an unknown source.  Just the thought makes me itch!

  16. Wash em real good and you will be fine. Some of my favorite clothes came from good will beotch

  17. if they can't afford the clothing...or just bcuz there's brand name clothing that's half the price. why pay the whole thing when you can pay half.

  18. because they cant afford anything else.....but i know what u mean i wouldnt buy used clothing. go ahead call me a snob...my dad does(i think thats just cuz hes too cheap! lol)

  19. As long as you don't buy underwear and or bras I think you should be okay! Besides you usually wash yoru clothes after you buy them before you put them on! So its not a problem. AND you can get some really good stuff from Thrift stores!

  20. WELL FIRST OF ALL YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT EVERYONE HAS THERE OWN OPINION THERE LIKE A--HOLES WE ALL HAVE ONE.SECOND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH WEARING USED CLOTHING.I HAVE BROUGHT MY CHILDREN UP ON THEM AND THEY DRESSED BETTER TEHN THE RICH s****. KIDS DID,AND BY THE WAY MY CHILDREN WERE VERY POPULAR IN SCHOOL.AND NOBODY EVER KNEW THAT MY CHILDREN HAD USED CLOTHING BECAUSE THEY ALL WORE NAME BRANDS TOO..IF YOU HAD $100.AND I HAD THE SAME AND WE WERE TOLD TO GO SHOP FOR CLOTHING AND COME BACK TO COMPARE.WELL YOUR ONE PAIR OF JEANS AND TEE-SHIRT WILL LOOK LIKE NOTHING COMPARED TO MY 48 PAIRS OF JEANS AND 48 TEE-SHIRTS  THAT ARE THE SAME BRAND AS YOURS.AND YOU WOULD OF WISHED YOU HAD HALF OF THEM.BUT IF YOU WANT TO GO THROUGH LIFE THINKING THAT WAY THEN BY ALL MEANS DO SO.AND ITS NOT A MATTER OF HAVING OR NOT HAVING MONEY ITS THE IDEA OF USING YOUR MONEY SMART.

  21. Maybe you have bed bugs at YOUR house, but I DO NOT!  I never donate nasty, infested clothing EVER!  When we donate clothing, it is good, clean, no stains, freshly laundered, and filth and pest free.  As someone who has had to mind her pennies from time to time, to pay my bills in a timely manner, I had to resort to thrift store clothing.  I have NEVER recieved or bought any clothing that was infested with anything other than more life left on it for me to use.  What I don't understand is where you got infested clothing, or where you got the idea that second hand clothing means nasty clothes.  I have donated many an item that still had the tags on it, because it either didn't fit me, wasn't my style or simply because I had so much other clothing I didn't see it.  When I clean my closets, if I haven't worn it in a year, it needs to go!  I'd rather it go to the thrift store where someone may have a use for it, fit it, or love it more than I do, if only to keep  it out of the landfill.  Personally, I love getting cool t shirts from the thrift store even though I don't HAVE to shop there if I don't want to, but I like it and I still want to.  I like getting something for .50 cents that I would have had to pay $20 in the store.  Its called being practical and frugal with my money.  That way, I can afford other luxuries in my life, like gas in the van, insurance on my truck and a 4th of July party with all the trimmings for a crowd of 50 friends and family this friday.  Of course, if I had bought 10 shirts from Walmart, or Target for $20 a piece, I would not have had the money for the decorations for our Hawaiian BBQ 4th of July!  So, oh hail yeah, you keep your cootie bugs, I'll stick to my way of doing things, while you do your Valley Girl act and pretend the planet has enough landfill space to hold all your precious things that hit the skids in your trash can, along with your Styrofoam plates and plastic bottles of water.  The rest of us, when in times of need or simply being practical and frugal, will save our pennies and count ourselves the lucky ones.  You need to spend a few days doing without to appreciate that not everything you type is pearls of wisdom, more like open mouth insert foot.  And no one would pick on you if it didn't sound so stupid and mean and high and mighty, and a little Paris Hiltonish......

  22. I can't wear used close. I get all freaked. Even if its family. I find it weird and awkward, but i don't mind if other people do it.
