I don't want my gynecologist to be a man. What does that mean?

I know how my question sounds. I just want serious opinions on this.

Does it mean I don't trust men? Or simply that it's my preference since I want to choose who exactly to let see and touch me down there? Any other opinions?

  1. It means that you would feel more comfortable with a woman, and there is nothing wrong with that.  Women gynecologists can relate better to a woman's feelings and symptoms than can a male doctor.

  2. That means that you're totally normal. Just go to a female one.

  3. It's just a preference. For me it's easier to talk to a female doctor about certain topics yet I would not want to be examined by a female.

  4. You have a choice. A lot of women feel this way. Some are shy around men, some are private. I prefer a female doctor for this type of exam too. There is nothing wrong with me, so there is nothing wrong with you either about this. Just find a female doctor.
