  1. Don't register to vote and you will never have to.

  2. You may never even get asked, and then you still might not be chosen.  Also, they pay you!  And you're employers often have to pay you while you're gone, as well.  They at least aren't allowed to penalize you for not being at work.

  3. I've never been asked and I'm 52, registered voter. I feel slighted!

  4. There are penalties where I live...and unless you have a major excuse it is very difficult to get out of...Your employer must give you the time off to participate in jury duty...I just had jury duty and was picked for a civil trial it only took 2 days and I was done...it was very interesting and it was amazing how the 12 jurors bonded..everyone was very friendly and I would be honored to be picked again.

  5. You don't want to do your civic duty, and post about it in the civic participation forum.  Wow, thats good trash.

  6. You "might" see jury duty once or twice in your life. Who knows, you might be a part of an important murder trial.

    Don't sweat.

PS Hefty fines and/or jail time depending on the state.

  7. WHY NOT???   I loved it - it's a priviledge of being an American.  You should be honored that you get to do it.  You are actively involved in the civic process of our judiciary process - how cool is THAT????

Is there a reason you don't want to?  Do you feel that you're not intelligent enough to understand what's going on? (I'm not being mean; I'm just asking).  Are you afraid you don't understand the process?  They explain it all to you.

  8. Just go to the jury selection and tell the judge you've been waiting your whole life to send criminals to prison. You'll be home before lunch.

  9. You can be fined and sent to jail for contempt of court.

In your case, maybe it should be contempt of your country.  If you want the benefits of living in America--carry out your responsibilities. Or leave.
