I don't want to drink?

Question

I really don't want to go out drinking because I don't want to spend money on alcohol. I told them this and they keep nagging me it is pissing me off.

They said come out you need a girlfriend (because I never had one) I said "No, I don't need a girlfriend!" and they said I'm boring because I don't want a girlfriend and waste money on something that doesn't benefit me.

I hate parties they are a waste of time it does nothing to benefit me.

What should I tell them?

Well if they were really your friends they would understand and respect ur decision. No you are not weird! I am 20 and think the same way, but the ppl around me don't pressure me though because they know better.

You know it very well, You are who you are, if those "them" can't get it, ask yourself, do they care about you or about what they want?

maybe you 're with the wrong "Dudes"

let them do what they want to do, get some friends who understand you.

So you dont like parties right, and you dont like drinking? Then dont go to parties, do something instead. For instance, theirs a bunch of local shows in my area (concerts that cost as much as 5-10 dollars). My boyfriend hates HATES parties but he loves going to shows even though its a big social gathering. Shows arent like parties even though theirs alot of people you can meet and become friends with, they dont have the same party like atmosphere that can make you feel awkward. You can go, listen to music, etc. Sometimes they'll sell alcohol at a show but it usually has to be a really big one.

I'd suggest to try to do something like that, change the scenary if you dont want to ditch your friends. Do something all of you can do. You dont have to come right out and say that but just be like "hey i heard theirs gonna be a really good show tonight, want to come?"

No of course you’re not weird! I agree with you... i like socializing with my friends but i hate going to parties as i dont enjoy drinking and would prefer to spend my money on something that i need.

Also you can find a gf without going to parties, so they are talking alot of bull but seriously they dont seem like they are great friends if there peer pressuring you to go out with them drinking.

Just say that you do not enjoy drinking like they do and would prefer to do something else to socialize.

just tell them that it's your decision and they should respect it!!!!  umm you're definitly not weird (i consider myself weird with some other things , i don't even like alcohol and i would never even try it....but i do have a boyfriend though..)

No. I don't like partying either. It's gross && really is a waste.

I agree with you on that note.

But the gf part, I think matter hows old you.

I guess you can get a gf when you want a gf.
