  1. I think you're from the one child policy in china, thats is why your parents had decided to sent you to our shore for your education.  You should be happy to be able to study what happen to those who could not have this type of opportunity not only in your country but around the world.  You're right not to depend on your parent since you are old enough to earn you living its a good sign, but your resume not impressive.  Buy a copy of our newspaper (straits time, or chinese daily) look into the classified ads to start with then look for jobs thats suit your qualification.  If you are a tech geek then look in ST701, monster.com......etc

  2. or visit http://www.wisdommen.com/ they give you some good money make ideas; i would look into it. its under tip&tricks Streetmoney some good info.

  3. Use your fathers money if he is willing, just because you feel like an adult, you still need help.  Try the local Chamber of Commerce if their is one the or go to the American Consulate there if they have one........

  4. You are a student from China but you hold a Singapore Identity card? Ok, if that is the case, then you are a Singaporean. Being a Singaporean, you can work legally.

You can try giving private tuition on a one to one basis, it pays better. You can teach Mandarin. Alternatively, you can try teaching in tuition centre where the pay is not so good but you get the satisfaction of parting your knowledge to a group of students.

If you are not into teaching, you may want to consider working in restaurant or fast food outlet near bugis. In there, you learn about team work and can widen your network of friends.

You are thoughtful in that you want to be financially independent. I believe your parents will be proud of you.

  5. hi there ...

if u are fm china ---i suggest u shall put your full focus in your study and will be complete your study in 1-2 yrs time fm now...this is why your father paying your course with out any complaint

By the day you get graduated with flying colour ---i am sure this is the biggest reward you can offer to him ---and all his hard work will be gone in his memory...and then buy him a trip and stay in Spore ....after u get a job to work here in Spore

2nd main point---to study and live in Singapore is nothing cheap and is very expensive ---as compare to China ---bec i have been staying in china -shanghai for few years and i know the std of living there ....

So being a student u really need to consider every events and items at a cost down approaches ---bec i have seen many china students in Spore ---wowowo...well high spender ...( i hope u are not one of them )

I also saw some good suggestion about giving pte class on mandarin ( night time )......to some primary school student---which i am sure u can well bal your time and also its do not violate any employment act according to our labour law  ( Spore is very different compare to CHINA ....so u need to accept this changes )
