For about two years now, I havent really felt any true emotion. Exept anger and fear sometimes. I havent even felt love for my family. But today, I actually started feel like I care for my family and friends. Like I'll be nice to them all but I never actually felt anything.

Today, I felt sad when my friend was ditched and my moms back started to hurt. But now, its starting not to feel like anything again. Whats wrong with me? I'm 13 now by the way.

  1. It's difficult to tell at your age, with raging hormones etc which can cause anger and moodiness.  Lots of teenagers don't really consider the feelings of other people so won't have sympathy for anyone else, but that's quite normal.

Why don't you talk to a relative about it as I think you are worried about something.

  2. It also could be that you have surpressed your feelings for some reason that is either intentional or unintentional. One recommendation would be to try showing your emotions (hugging, smiling, congratulating, praising, etc.) during the day (don't overdo it).  You must basically re-train yourself to show emotion.  Before long you'll have re-programmed yourself to feel and show emotion at the proper times (ie when it comes from the heart).  Good luck.

  3. It is difficult to determine b/c of the changes that are happening with you during adolescence.  But it could be an underlying mental health disorder....your emotions are repressed for some reason.

The only was to truly know is to have a mental health evaluation and go from there.

I would not think catching a cold yesterday would have anything to do with something that has been going on for two years

You are certainly introspective and wise to be asking and reaching out for help. It doesn't sound serious - but I am not a professional either.
